April Lockhart
April Lockhart was born on July 4 1995 In seventh grade she began playing the guitar as well as taking piano lessons which ignited her love for songwriting. April's first song was Different, which she wrote aged 12. The year she turned 14 was when she was a huge devotee of her time writing music ideas and practicing music. The following months she began to take writing excursions together with her dad in LA as well as NY. April also began to integrate various other topics relevant to the Take my Hand song for some close friends, like peer pressure disabilities and even teenage suicide. Lockhart has her own following and also works as a lifestyle blogger at the renowned Ilia Clean Beauty brand. Disability is an aspect of her personality, but it is not the whole image. Lockhart acknowledges her handicap in her Instagram profile, but she doesn't put it at the center of her account. What message is it trying to convey? The message is that we are more than just our physical self. Our identities are complex and include a myriad of dimensions. Lockhart stated in a video interview she does not wish to be defined by her disability. The woman doesn't intend to work as a disability advocate who only talks about that. There are many aspects of Lockhart. The issue doesn't affect my everyday activities. I conduct doing my job as normal and have discovered my own methods to adjust. Because it's also a component of who I am and something worthy of discussion. Self-acceptance is a lifelong marathon but Lockhart truly inspires me for this aspect. The actress admits she has gone through a series of phases with regards to her body, feeling uneasy about clothes which showed her arms. She now wears anything she likes and uploads photos of herself wearing those clothes to social networks with pride. Self-love, she says, is a process. "I doubt you will ever be in that place," she said. This is true for everyone regardless of their level of insecurity. It's essential to have those that know and are able to understand. They will be able to remind you of what you are worried about.
