Audrey Tautou

Audrey Tautou is the youngest of four children born on August 9, 1976, in Beaumont Puy in Domme. At a young age, her dentist surgeon parents and her teacher mother encouraged her passion of theater and drama. This passion which trumped her original desire to be the first primatologist. The rise of her as an actress in her early years was quick and marked by early success. Prior to beginning an acting career Tautou took part in Jeunes Premiers a French show on TV that focuses on talent sponsored by Canal+ in 1998. The program also awarded her the title of The award for the Best Young Actress at her performance in the Beziers Festival of Young Actors. Tautou, who attended in the Institut Catholique de Paris in Paris as a child and enrolled in the school at an early age but has sworn off her Catholic upbringing. She now says she is not a Catholic. The modeling and acting careers of Tautou have been interspersed. She became the face for L'Oreal Mont Blanc Chanel, and is known as The Chanel Muse. Apart from her acting career she also has an interest in photography. The actress recently showed some images during Arles Film Festival. Arles Film Festival under the name Superficial. Her photography largely focuses on celebrity and fame, and turns the camera on the media who sat on her shoulders following her sudden rise to stardom in the film Amelie as well as self-portraits. Audrey Tautou became a star and gained international recognition with her debut role as Amelie Poulain from Le Fabuleux Destination d'Amelie. Amelie has been a box office hit internationally and praised at many award festivals around the globe. The film is still the most successful French film across the US. In the wake of this achievement, Tautou was featured in a wide range of movies ranging that ranged from British dramas like Stephen Knight's Dirty Pretty Things to Jean-Pierre Jeunet's film Un long Sunday de fiancailles and moving into Hollywood with Ron Howard's direction of the Dan Brown bestseller The Da Vinci Code with Tom Hanks.
